Pediatric Nephrology

The pediatric nephrology unit was established in 1989, when the closest pediatric dialysis unit was in Petach Tikva’s Beilinson Hospital, some two-and-a-half hours away.  The unit provides a solution for children suffering from kidney diseases and urinary tract defects who live in northern Israel, the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

The unit administers chronic + acute hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis, emergency dialysis for all ages, from newborns to 21 years of age.  The unit treats patients with acute renal failure and/or dialysis in cases of poisoning, metabolic diseases and immunological diseases.

The unit treats all problems related to kidney diseases and urinary tract defects, electrolyte problems, enuresis, kidney related congenital diseases, examination and treatment of hypertension, follow-up of kidney and/or liver transplants.
