Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Nahariya Hospital - Divisions and Departments - Pediatrics Division - Pediatric Intensive Care
PEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) was opened in 1998, and included four fully-equipped intensive care stations.
Today, the unit includes 6 treatment stations, one that is completely isolated (including positive or negative pressure).
Each station offers a private space for the child and his parents.
The unit has been beautifully decorated, including the ceiling (by art classes at Kabri School) and provides an atmosphere of calm and serenity.
The unit was established by the Western Galilee - Nahariya Hospital, thanks to the generous donation by Kurt and Isabel Rose.
The unit’s equipment:
The unit’s state-of-the-art equipment includes the latest respiratory devices, monitors (bedside monitors and a central monitor), I.V. pumps and syringe. The state-of-the-art equipment enables the administration of precise and complex medication, optimal artificial respiration according to age and disease of the child, and monitoring of the important indices at all times. The equipment was purchased thanks to the donations of generous individuals and institutions.
