Nephrology and Dialysis

Nahariya Hospital - Divisions and Departments - Internal Medicine – Nephrology, Hypertension and Dialysis.

The Department of Nephrology and Hypertension offers services to patients suffering from acute and chronic renal disease and includes the following units:

1.The HemodialysisCenter is one of the largest in the country
      and serves more than 210 patients.

2. The Peritoneal Dialysis Unit provides servcies to more than 35 patients.

3. The Department of Nephrology includes 15 in patient beds.

4. Clinics for patients suffering from hypertension and kidney disease,
    pre-dialysis clinic and follow-up clinic for transplant ptients.

5. Nephrologist consultations throughout the hospital.

Head of the Department, Prof. Kamal Hassan, along with a team of experienced senior physicians, as well as interns and a nursing staff of 35 registered nurses who have been trained in basic nephrology. The multidiciplinary team includes a social worker, consulting dietician, biomedical technologists, a research coordinator and auxiliary staff.

Academic and Research

The department is licensed in teaching medical students and giving specialization degrees in Nephrology.

The department is also deeply involved in both clinical and basic research projects.
