Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was established at the beginning of 2015 and is headed by Professor Samer Srouji. It is located on the third floor of the Surgical Center.
In addition, the department operates an ambulatory clinic within the Outpatient Dept. on the ”-1” floor (below ground level).

Hours of Operation:

Sunday thru Thursday, 8:30 -13:00

The unit provides treatment in the following subspecialties:

·       Dentoalveolar Surgery

·       Orthogenetic Surgery

·       Oncological Surgery

·       Head and Neck Trauma Care with or without  facial bone fractures

·       Reconstructive Surgery

·       Pathology of the Lower Jaw Joints

·       Surgical Treatment of the Oral Cavity

·       Treatment of Pathologies of the Salivary Gland

·       Treatment of Mucous Membrane Diseases

Teaching and Academic Activities:

A laboratory dedicated to fundamental research is located adjacent to the department. It focuses on the employment of stem cells and growth factors for purposes of bone reconstruction. The department is active in the realm of clinical research and has conducted a number of clinical research projects.

Education of Medical Students:

The department educates students in the framework of academic classes and participates in the supervision of fifth and sixth year students in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department.
